• Built version directories are sorted as semantic versions in build.ps1, .gitlab-ci.yml and the generic tests, so e.g. 0.10.0 is picked over 0.9.0
• build.ps1 writes the built manifest with a UTF-8 BOM; ModuleBuilder omits it, so Windows PowerShell 5.1 read the manifest as ANSI and garbled non-ASCII text such as ReleaseNotes
• Release asset zip file now uses the full tag version (e.g. 0.2.1-rc.1) rather than the ModuleBuilder output directory name which strips the prerelease label
• Asset URL in GitLab releases no longer broken; ?job= was swallowed by PowerShell 7 null-conditional operator when used in string interpolation — switched to string concatenation
• build.ps1 release-notes injection now tolerates the commented # ReleaseNotes = '' placeholder emitted by New-ModuleManifest, so freshly-scaffolded modules no longer corrupt their manifest on the first tag build; prefers the uncommented placeholder when both forms exist to avoid producing a duplicate ReleaseNotes key in PSData
